This spring Hildegard event will feature a medieval medical manuscript specialist who will unlock the secrets of Hildegard’s two books on medicine and an extraordinarily talented trio who specializes in medieval music and in performing Hiildegard’s work. We will all be exploring what Hildegard had to tell us about healing both body and soul.
But please note! The actual April date for this Hildegard event has not been confirmed! Keep your eye out for it, so you don’t miss this wonderful event.
This is going to be an excellent symposium and I am excited to be part of it! My presentation will some the most highly creative women mystics of all time, including the extraordinarily fascinating life of the 13th c.visionary, Mechthild of Magdeburg, and the beloved 12th c.Hindu yogini, Mahadevi Akka. It will compare their mystical experiences, their creative outpourings; and the transformation they experienced with what the ancient yogis had to tell us about “awakening”. More importantly, it will delve into what we can learn from them about the personal transformation in consciousness we are currently experiencing and how it relates to the divine feminine, known as Shakti, or kundalini-shakti, in yoga.
A series of three Sunday afternoon lectures on the art, music, and mystical experiences of Hildegard von Bingen featuring Teri Degler on September 15th. Teri has been writing about extraordinarily creative women saints and mystics for over three decades. Hildegard of Bingen has long been her favorite. In this enriching “Hildegard” afternoon, Teri will lead an in-depth discussion of the film. The talk will also explore Hildegard’s love of the Divine Feminine – and how she managed to slip it by the Pope himself! – and delve into her profound mystical experience, the transformation in consciousness it triggered, and how it sparked a creative output rivaled only by DaVinci’s. Even more importantly, the afternoon’s discussion will look at what we can learn from Hildegard’s experience and how we can use it to enrich our daily lives.
At the Institute for Consciousness Research’s 34th annual conference this summer I am honored to have been asked to speak about the nature of kundalini-shakti. The talk will delve into how this divine feminine energy is seen in Tantra and explore its role as an evolutionary force – emphasizing what this means for the transformation of your own consciousness and what this means not just for your daily life but for the world you live in.

They include, Penny Kelly,Tara Springett, Satya Singh, Stuart Perrin, Edgar Hofer, Gabriel Morris, Birgit Hassenkamp, Christina Martine, Mary Shutan, Dorothy Walters, David Lukoff, Dietmar Krämer, Stuart Sovatsky, Olga Louchakova-Schwartz, Barbara Whitfield, Hana Rubinstejnova, Sat Bir Singh Khalsa, Andrew Newberg, Bonnie Greenwell and Chrism.
I am very excited to be among these and other outstanding speakers for this online symposium: Swedish scientist John Calleman, PhD; authority on prana and kundalini, Michael Bradford; and founder of Wild Divine Bliss, Corrine Lebrun.
Kundalini is a word from the ancient Indian (Hindu) tradition, but describes a universal phenomenon found in all cultures throughout the world — the experience of spiritual awakening and the acquisition of genius. According to our hypothesis, Kundalini involves the brain, central nervous system, and reproductive system.
The theme of the 2016 Symposium event is “Kundalini and the Global Shift of Consciousness.” Kundalini is the biological basis behind the global shift of consciousness taking place, and understanding it can help us address the most urgent problems of our time. Understanding Kundalini can also help us accelerate our own process of spiritual growth.

I’ll be giving a talk, “The Sacred Roots of Tantra“, at the ICR’s 31st annual summer conference — this year on Kundalini: The Role of Sexual Energy in the Transformation of Consciousness.
I’ve noticed that if you say the word “Tantra” these days, people think “Sex!” Images flood the mind of the Kama Sutra and weekend workshops for couples that focus on prolonging pleasure and reaching ecstatic sexual states. But is this all there is to Tantra? Or does it even have anything to do with true Tanta? This talk will delve into the ancient, sacred roots of Tantra – both the right-hand path where the union of the masculine and feminine was seen as symbolic and divine and the left-hand path which corrupted these teachings into the dark search for power and personal gain. More importantly, the talk will explore the deep meaning and relevance that Tantra – as the transmutation of sexual energy into spiritual energy – is not just for our spiritual growth but for
the awakening of kundalini and the transformation of our consciousness.
Don’t miss this conference! Here’s what ICR says about it: Join us in gaining understanding of the relationship between our reproductive system and our consciousness. Mystical experiences have often been described as erotically charged and sometimes sexually suggestive “unions” with the Beloved. Some ancient texts explain this phenomenon in terms of the awakening of Kundalini, the transmutation of sexual energy into spiritual energy and the union of the divine masculine and feminine.
